Paper Complains that Governor Helped His Family Get COVID tests early: Really, NYT??? What’s Next? Cuomo Kidnapped the Lindbergh Baby?

Word to a news organization that is getting dangerously close to tabloid fodder.

Dear NYT,

When CNN host, Chris Cuomo contracted coronavirus at the very beginning of the pandemic, there’s a very good chance he would have died…as many did. Matilda Cuomo, the Governor’s mother, is almost 90, the most vulnerable population to the virus. Come on, New York Times, you’re better than this. You’re nitpicking here. Who among us would not do EVERYTHING in our power to protect our loved ones from this frightening scourge? This is especially true last year when there was very little knowledge and treatment for the virus.

Another Trump party foil, CNN, no lover of Andrew Cuomo of late as it beats a hasty retreat from wall to wall Cuomo love last year (re: the overcorrecting and overreacting Jake Tapper) came to the defense, stating

Although we typically don’t comment employees’ medical decisions…”it is not surprising that in the earliest days of a once-in-a-century global pandemic, when Chris was showing symptoms and was concerned about possible spread, he turned to anyone he could for advice and assistance, as any human being would.”

By the way, NYT if you’re going after politicians who get preferential health…
